I'm trying to remove a Heat Exchanger from a (disconnect) Suprima 40.

I've got everything out of the bioler, and unscrewed the four bolts which hold the HE in place. All that is connected to the HE now is the flow and return pipes.

I've undone the flow and return connections, but the thing won't budge. What is holding the two pipes in place? Is there a special knack to removing these things?

Thanks for any advice.

corgiman....

This is a disconnect boiler which is sitting on my spare room floor. I'm doing this partly out of interest, partly for education, and partly because I need the part. Once I have it, I have an engineer lined up to replace it on the 'real' boiler. I'm not that irresponsible, honestly...

Now I still can't get that HE off...

Thanks Chris.

You mean with some kind of burner? I guess I'll have to get a specialist in after all
