The Council will end up with another headache: nobody will park there. So either they will park elsewhere, possibly annoying residents, or they will burger off to another beach and the town would lose trade.

I think £30 is a bit steep, but isn't it to encourage people to park elsewhere? West wittering is nicer and £10 per day. But both locations have free places to park and even the campsites offer a pitch for less than £30. p/n
 
I always go to Winchelsea beach, about 3 miles from Camber sands.

it has a tiny car park of about a dozen spaces and you can still park in the the summer

this is about as busy as it gets:
