When terminating SWA into a plastic adaptable box, is the norm to fit the banjo on the outside of the box, or inside? The box is external (IP65) It is two core swa cable, the armour being used as the CPC. Intention is to use brass M4 nut bolt washer and a crimped ring lug from above to choc block (joining to T&E and then onward to CU)

EDIT: Thinking about it if the banjo is ouside then it will have a better connectiion to the armour as it will be trapped against the brass of the gland, as opposed to inside wher the electrical contact would be just the thread of the locknut, right ?

I'm not a fan of sandwiching the protective conductor against plastic. One preference is to secure the gland to the box using a locknut, then install the banjo then another locknut so it is held between the two metal locknuts, or alternatively use a piranha.

Makes sense, thanks. I have seen pirahnas, are they the favoured method over banjos these days ?
