I fitted a customer supplied chinese oak floor almost 1 year ago I left 8/10mm expansion gap all round, glued and nailed every tongue/groove using the pro nailer onto an existing whitewood tongue and groove floor. Last week a section sprung up the centre. A decorator has been in stripping and papering the affected area. Is this the cause?

i would assume a steam stripper or even sloppy pasting in the area off lift
ask the owner where the paste table was and iff any water/liquid was spilled

definetly sounds like moisture is the cause of the problem - have you got a decent moisture meter - if so test the content of the area and compare it to the rest of the floor, if its got wet it'll show up and it's easy to show the customer.
