Tado system- bridging the old wired thermostat

Afternoon all

Just installed my tado system and all seems good. However I need to bridge the old mechanical thermostat and decommission it but the tado app doesn't recognise my thermostat so can't provide me with instructions. Is any one able to shed any light on what I need to do here?

What/where do you want to decommission it? If existing then join the black and brown in a connector block/Wago and terminate grey safely.
