It's easy. Just follow this diagram I have drawn for you.

If you use the quote button it will set the opening quote, like this:

[quote]

The Quote button then shows a *. You press the button to insert an end of quote sign [/quote].

So it looks like this:

[quote] Text being quoted[/quote]

If you forget to press the Quote button again, the system automatically inserts [/quote] at the end of the document.

I rarely use the Quote, etc buttons as I find it easier to type the relevant code.
