Hi

New to the forum

I am thinking of haveing my outside walls done with this Tex Gard its a form of render

Wonder if any one else has dealings with this material and is it ok

I believe this particular product is produced by a company called Andura and is a weatherproof coating applied over existing surfaces rather than a render. If this is what you are looking at, then it is available in various colours, in both smooth and textured finishes.

This type of product relies on excellent surface preparation and should not be applied directly over damaged, loose or dirty substrates. If this is done then it will last no longer than a coat of paint - if that long! (The type of story you see on Rogue Traders, Cowboy Builders etc, where it flakes and peels off after one winter.) When applied correctly however, it will last many many years.

Hopefully this helps you a little, but if I am talking about a different product then I apologise for my error.
