If your using Wi-Fi mode then the SmartCom has to be on your network first. Press & hold Wi-Fi button on SmartCom until Wi-Fi LED flashes slowly then search on your phone for the SmartCom wifi network enter the passphrase which is inside the SmartCom then open your phones web browser and enter up address 192.168.2.1 this should bring up a web page for the smart com showing all available networks, select your home Wi-Fi network and enter its password, exit browser and try generating an app code on keypad.

Hi Thanks for reply
I have already tried all your suggestions and no luck
The device seemed to connect to the internet once and came back with a message ACK FAILED call terminated
Any ideas ?

Is your router dual band ? Are you connecting by Wifi
Smartcom only works on 2.4 GHz, turn off 5GHz Wi-Fi and try to connect .

Hi Handyman thanks for the reply
have tried your suggestion no luck
Alarm is in one of my garages connected to the internet by two tp link av1200 home plug network adapters, I have tried wireless and lan connections through these plugs
Also have turned of the smart setup on my bt hub as recommended through the texecom foum……….. still not connecting :(

Run a temporary lead from router to smartcom via cat5 cable .you may need to make up your own lead.this will prove if problem is with to link extender ?

managed to sort it all out, not sure what actually fixed it though!
Found an earth fault on my garage wiring so fixed this and reset the alarm then set up using Wintex and all was good
Also found out how to get a cheap cable to connect pc to wintex
Only 3 quid........better than the 40 quid texecom are charging :)

Good thinking, I kicked myself when I realised I was installing a UART driver to get the telecom one to work, I had a lead in the cupboard!
