I think I know the answer to this one - that I need a new keypad but thought i'd check.

The keypad display is showing up as garbled on the 2nd line, and the number 6 isn't working. I was moving the keypad to another location, and I think i might have accidentally touched the live (red) wire of the alarm cable onto the PCB. I suspect this has caused a short somewhere, but wanted to double check.

Taking the power off and on does the same thing. Panel is 24 Elite and is in engineer mode.

Cheers

technical term for the keypad is knackered. needs to be replaced.

if wiring the keypad with the panel powered up, remove the 12V+ inside the panel first so you cant do it again.

I have ordered a new keypad. That is such a great idea to remove the 12v inside panel first!

Cheers
