my understanding is several have had that issue but not us, someone one from the Texecom forum sent me a smart com to take a look at and whilst I could use it to connect to the panel, it couldn't be used with TC, apparently files were missing from the smart com.
Unfortunately the history on that unit wasn't fully known, so difficult to piece things together.
I can only see a handful of ways that files go awol.
system compromised in some way.
an upgrade goes wrong due to connectivity issues.
Many years ago when the smart coms were relative fresh, I upgraded one whilst using wintex on com 3, that caused a few issues and texecom worked on a fix and four hours later forced a smart com upgrade through.
I also trued to use a smart com on a V4 panel to upgrade to V5 and that caused connectivity issues with the smart com, Texecom advised swap for a new smart com.
Got that one back to the office and put it on a panel and it worked perfectly, on the panel that wasnt working the replacement smart com worked straight away.
Neither of these had the AP-HUB issue.
I remember being told several times you cant use wifi and Lan as dual path, back on a beta smart com which is still working by the way as its been periodically upgraded, wifi was possible even though it technically wasn't available they were hard wired only, and more recently, a customer had wifi trouble with the smart com we converted it to hardwired connection and out it inside the elite 48 metal case, so no way it could of been using wifi, 1. because it was already struggling and 2 . because it was now in big faraday cage. I couldn't get the unit to default. no default etc etc and it currently shows as a hard wired connection and not a wifi one.
You can not always rely on the information being passed to you, in my experience it often represents a partial story rather than the full picture. That is with all systems not just intruder/ CCTV etc etc, but anything using modern tech and AI certainly isn't reliable, some of the crap that churns out is scary! Currently you need good knowledge to rule out some of the stuff AI churns out.
