One and a half weeks to go, and a fortnights holiday for me. I need it Anyone else going anywhere nice for their hols this year? RichardP need not reply, he's permanently on holiday.

unfortunately didn`t visit nou camp. Actually went for a diving event in the Olympiic area...to the beach...to the bars...to the ahhh memories...

Canaries, that is if it hasn't burnt to the ground
Went to Fuerteventura last year, its just a sand dune nothing to catch fire there, lots of german ladies in their birthday suits but loads of sun and as there's no where to go and nothing to do you won't feel guilty about doing nothing and going no where!!, just lay by the pool and read all those books you've been meaning to read all year.

I'm gonna attempt to do absolutely s0d all for 2 weeks. Don't think the kids will let me, but I can try. What's the wine like in the canaries, suppose its just Spanish wine ? which IMHO is awful as is the food as are the British tourists / expats. Luckily got our own villa with private pool.
Why oh why am I not going to Italy ??? Oh yeah I remember, couldn't afford it.
Just got back from Paphos, Cyprus. Great place (if you like overly touristy).

Your right Eddie about the food, everything comes with rice,chips and baked potatoe!! I asked for the prawn curry without the chips and baked potatoe and she looked shocked and said she'd have to ask the chef!! there is lots of nice fish and them little salty spuds they eat are nice,and they do have their own home grown wine which is ok but you'll end up drinking spanish rioja unless you like white, no idea about that, its funny the way they have someone outside each reastuarant trying to get you to come in, its off putting but I guess they know best.
coffee? I think its called 'contardo' is good and I think they make it with condensed milk. but really, your not going for the culture, the kids will love it.

I've given up on Spain for food, perversely for a nation that produces a high percentage of all Europes Fruit and Veg, most of their food is just horrible stodge. Paella I like, Tapas I like, but most of the rest of it, errr, not nice. Oh don't start me on British 'pubs' in Spain, why oh why oh why? Oh, well as I say I don't really care 2 weeks off, nothing to do, should be great.
