How much should they have paid? What was their taxable profits?

I have been reading that profits should be about £2.5 billion based on turnover. But it seems impossible to get the actual figures.

do you think any of the following are benefit scroungers:

people on NHS waiting list like knee or back operation
people with terminal illnesses
people with progressive illnesses
people born with disabilities for example CP
women who are suffering PTSD from domestic violence
women who have left abusive relationships but have young children

£20m is a pi$$ take. Sounds like Rishi handed Amazon a get out of jail free card.

It ignores a company’s ability to apply internal charges differently, which they mostly do.

Starbucks famously charged royalties on its intellectual property, which it based in Denmark, due to the ability to pay zero tax on IP there.

In the case of Amazon, Rishi created a capital deferral rate of 130% so a lot opted to pay taxes in the U.K. If only Rachel from accounts could see that tax breaks for big corporations lead to more taxes being paid.
