Mark my words!!
I hope you're right, after 9 yrs in power something should've have happened by now but I won't hold my breath
besides you are always blaming labour what's the difference??
Because you're always blaming Tories, both to blame aren't they :?: :!: :!: :!: Labour are no difference from the Tories, it's exactly the same and Blair conned the voters quoting New Labour to get into power. Why did Blair invited Maggie Thatcher for many secret meetings for her advice :?: Blair is a Tories so why don't you blame him instead then :?:
Oh and it was the tories that brought in all those pointless penpushers not labour.
So why are Labour sacking doctors & nurses instead of penpusher :?:

Brown in 2005: "No more money into the NHS without reform". So why isn't working then :?:
Sacking nurses and doctors is not the answer is it :?: If you don't believe me then ask any Nurses and doctors, my mum, sister, uncle and grandfather has worked for the NHS are fed up.

Brown, Blair & Prescott are so divorced from the real world.

Joe 90 Would like to be shot and that may be his right. Joe have you thought of your family and friends. Which one of them would you burden with the job of pulling the plug or giving the instruction to do so.

BE HAPPY

A nurse (or other health worker) cannot treat a patient when she is off duty. End of story.

The poster I was replying to said his wife works something like 20 hours a week UNPAID. That's clearly rubbish - which is why he's left the thread.
I know it, you know it - and everyone else knows it.

joe

I'm not sure whether your greatest overriding attribute is your arrogance or your ignorance. I can not be on a forum when I have other things to do. I stated that my wife works an extra 30 - 40 hours a month (this is a fact so no matter what your opinion is this it doesn't alter facts). At least be accurate with quotes when spouting your bilious rubbish.

It's OK dg123 - I know the score - having been there, done it and worn the tee shirt - just like your wife. ;)

Joe knows nothing - he gets all his information from the internet....which says a lot about the man .......eh!!! ;)

You'd be doing him a favour Julie - he doesn't want to live when he is of no use to society.... I wonder, has that time already come? ;)

the only difference i can see is the tories went out of their way to be corrupt and sold off lots of services to gain profit for certain individuals...
I agree with you here kendor.

...whereas labour have had to pick up the pieces and it's no wonder they have found it an almost impossible task as the system is so hard to change now, at least labour are trying to reform and it will take many many years to put right what the tories have damaged...
But not this bit. Have you forgotten about that deceiptful crook Stephen Byers?

Look folks. You cannot work in the NHS if you are not on duty.

Picture this:

A nurse doing her rounds hands a patient his cup of tea and drops it on his dangly bits. Now if the nurse in employed and being paid then he can claim compensation from the hospital. If the nurse is continuing to work unpaid then the patient would have to sue the nurse personally. She wouldn't have the half million he would get in damages so she would have to sell her house.
She would also be charged with tresspass.
If she was found to be pushing her tea trolley BEFORE the accident happened (by her boss) - then she would be escorted from the building.

Gedditt yet?

Thort not.

No.........I 'geddit' - but you don't

Geddit yet?

He won't

Julie

OK then Julie - who would be legally responsible if an unpaid off-duty employee were to injure someone?

I can't think of a reason why this would be the situation joe-90 - do you have a reference to case law that illustrates this point?

It's simple mate. If you are not in the pay of your employee - then you are trespassing. This is the case when railway signalmen hang around to talk to their shift relief - they are ordered off the premises. If they cause an accident by helping out pulling levers - then if someone dies they are charged with manslaughter. The Quintinshill case proved this.

It really isn't (and I'm really not your "mate").

joe-90 said:

Again - what is the law that makes this so?

joe-90 said:

I can easily imagine a good reason for this, which is that they would be distracting their colleagues from focussing on their job, and thereby endangering lives. Nothing whatsoever to do with trespass.

Are you able to explain how that case "proved" such a thing?
