The pain specialist said pilates is better than yoga
At what exactly?

I'm sure if the pain specialist was addressing you specifically then that's great news. I'm also certain that a pain specialist would not issue a weak and ambiguous statement in that "pilates is better than yoga" for everyone and everything. It does not make sense.

The bit at the end of my post i.e....
However, ANY fitness activity has to be better than none at all.
..was just me adding a general opinion and not a criticism.

Perhaps you could read my original post in full.
Taking little bits out of context probably why it doesn't make sense to you.

Pilates, better for you and no injuries.
Pain specialist I saw years ago said yoga shouldn't be done as he treated a lot of people with long term back problems due to yoga.
I seriously don't understand your problem with it. Is there nothing better for you to do than nitpick? I saw a specialist, asked him his opinion, I shared it on here. END OF.

I did. Here it is...

Am I to ignore this response...
It was his advice to me when I asked about using yoga to get stronger.

..and take it that your pain doctor was saying yoga is bad for EVERYONE and pilates is better for EVERYONE?

What do you think he meant by better? In what way?

My professional opinion as a plumber would be sort your back out. Then get good advise as to the way forward.

Clearly you didn't read it. Better for avoiding injuries. He told me that he saw and treated a lot of people for long term yoga injuries. Therefore, on his own medical experience, he recommended pilates, not yoga.

He didn't say it just for me. I asked his advice for me, but he didn't answer just for me, I thought that would've been clear.

And feel free to be astonished. Feel free to ignore his advice or anything I write! It's fine by me. (y) It's easier for all concerned I think.

Considering your a troll I think your right in what you say..
Why do you think Noseall is a troll? Sure, he doesn't often say much other than to put someone down but lots of people do that on here.

You sure you're not confusing someone who's views you don't like as a troll?

I still get lower back problems that is related to sciatica.
My chiropractor and my Docter told me that I've got to really be in a bad way for the specialist to put me up for a MRI scan... As it costs so much. Both said they doubt I would be given a scan

The fact that I do yoga is why she did put me up for MRI spine lumbar and sacral. Just a difference of opinion I would say...
She was impressed with my diet and yoga, in an attempt to help my problem.

I gave yoga up for a month. Taking in a holiday and having a good few massages. Then I started yoga up again. It got to a point that I thought I had put my back right myself. Nearly postponed the scan as I thought it's not going to pick up anything and I would miss my chance.

Then I did my knee in. Back has been playing me up again due to compensating in the way I walk..
I had my MRI scan about a month ago. I have an appointment 27 this month to see what the scan results are.
She was impressed with my diet and yoga, in an attempt to cure help my problem. Hence why I have got this far..

I never put anyone down. He's constantly calling me a troll because I have a diffrent opinion to his. I never bite because somone calls me a prick. When somone uses language like that says volumes. There is alot of arrogance and it generally comes from remainers.
