Most of the travel discussion forums are based on low budget camping back packers !

I am trying to arrange a holiday in Southern Africa driving through three countries and staying in cheaper hotels! Probably hiring a car ( but possibly using the car I have there if we can arrange for somebody to drive it to the airport in another country ).

Does anyone know of any forums where there are knowledgeable people who do these kind of holidays?

Most people I know just go on package holidays!

You often find some knowledgeable types on TA forums.

If you're going to SA, the Garden and Wine Route is fantastic. Start off from Port Elizabeth and drive down the coast roads, spending time in the wine area before ending in Cape Town. For the wine area, places like Stellenbosch Paarl and particularly Franschhoek are spectacular. Lots of cheap places to stay on farms or in farm cottages.

Kruger Park is also recommended, and quite affordable if you stay in their own accommodation (stone rondavels with thatched roof with bathroom and a/c).

The exchange rate is very good at present.
