Our boiler has stopped working and we have narrowed it down to Gas valve - where can I find a schematic of the layout of the boiler? Need to get heating fixed before it gets wetter/colder

You don't need a diagram, you need a CORGI registered engineer.

if it is the gas valve you'll need a rgi. your boiler is very basic why would you need a schematic?

Ok - the boiler is being repaired by plumber friend. Husband asked me to find schematic and to order the parts

good question - have feeling that he has moved on from plumbing and is doing this as a favour

Does it have a grey push button valve or a red and white push button valve

No im just assuming that at sometime in your BG years you done private work or perhaps you where the only one who never did

done plenty on my own badge. Had to lose it in the end cos they started checking, but left shortly after anyway.

In any case, this is not the point in this case. The OP insinuated the guy coming to look at the boiler isn't even in the industry anymore, which is a bit different to an ACS qualified engineer doing work on the side.

Not according to HSE both the same

And your telling me all the way through right up to before you left you had your own corgi ticket. WHY

lol, who the hell do you think you are??? I had simple concerns about safety because some "guy" who once upon a time might have tinkered with pipes was potentially gonna change this persons gas valve, and now I get the 3rd degree about my career with BG??? get a life

3rd degree dont think so .Do you not want to back up your corgi ticket story then.
How do you know what the guy is qualified to do majority of the public refer to anyone to do with heating as plumbers.
