My kitchen and utility room are joined together.
Would you recommend tiling continuously through the rooms?
I intend to start in the kitchen but am worried that tiling continuously through the doorway and into the utility room might leave some awkward sized tiles in the utility room.
Would it be better to start afresh in the 2nd room?
If so, how do you tidy up the shape of the tiles at the join? I guess I'd have to put a metal doorway plate over them...

I'd continue the tiles through to the next room. When doing so, consider the two rooms as one room with a partition and start in the centre of the now bigger room. You can move your start point about a bit to make sure you won't end up with thin cuts at either end. As ever, walk the tiles hand over hand to see what you'll be left with at each end. Don't forget to allow for the spacers.
