Hi all,
Is it possible to build a 1st floor wall of timber where the sole plate is positioned over the external leaf of brickwork, rather than inner leaf, in a cavity wall? What would go underneath to spread this load? (if possible).

Essentially to make more room internally and also have the cladding positioned further outward.
Thanks.

Yes as long as it detailed properly to allow the frame to be strapped down.

The frame sits on a sole plate

We did this but only had a single leaf on the ground floor to start with. It hasn't fallen down yet.
