Tips for garbage management!

Can someone share some tips to manage the household garbages? I’m really struggling to find ways for managing it. recently my friend had advised me to rent a dumpster from Red Bins so that it might be easy to get rid of most of the garbages.

Household waste, i.e. waste paper, bottles, waste food, packaging etc? Don't you guys have bins (trash cans) that are municipally controlled and paid by taxes etc?
