To all those that welcome/encourage the small boat migrants.

It should be though. That's the point. I had to fill in countless forms, share my DBS, supply references and demonstrate that I could be an asset to the country... as opposed to a drain.

You are comparing legal immigration with illegal immigration. Two very different things. It's a bit like comparing buying a car to stealing a car.

Except that there is no way for you to buy a car, stealing is the only way.

Yes, there should be more safe routes. At the moment there are none so they are forced to come by boat if they want to reach the UK.
It wouldn’t stop them if there were safe routes. They will still come in their boats regardless.

If you are not a refugee fleeing for your life and seeking asylum, the same conditions do not and should not apply.

For example, you would not have been allowed to work as a teacher, or anything else.

I condemn protests like the above as they achieve nothing. But you can understand the issue/s causing the frustration
Police deny 'bussing' protesters to asylum hotel.
The pro-refugee group went on to clash with rival protesters "Officers did provide a foot cordon around protesters on their way to the protest,
"Later, some people who were clearly at risk of being hurt were also escorted by vehicle away from the area for their safety."

Essex Police said said the protests began peacefully but "escalated to the point of disorder and criminal damage".
It seems to me that it all kicked off once the escorted pro-refugee group got there.
I think all "counter protest" should be banned.

Why are Essex police involved at Canary Wharf. Why not the Met. Seems weird.

I thought you were all for free speech?
It all depends what they're saying, so it does.
A guy was arrested at a Palestine Action protest for holding a cartoon from an issue of Private Eye.
How much further to the right is this country prepared to go?

You both purposely misread or grabbed onto the wrong end of the stick.
I said counter protests - as in ones aimed at countering another on the same day. Each side of the argument can have their own protest on their own day to protest about whatever they like - lawfully but it seems that whenever the are "counter protests" it always ends in violence.
It has been noted by some that in the counter protest (both sides) they deliberately "kick off" so that the blame is then put on the original protest for being violent.

Calm down, that doesn't happen. Uber are employing illegal workers and you blame the hostel staff?

Give your head a shake.
Well when they know they are asylum seekers, allowing them to charge and park equipment they use to work illegally makes them complicit.

I didn't misread or grab onto anything. I was making the point that counter-protest is also free speech.
