To all those that welcome/encourage the small boat migrants.

Who wants people to stay that do not meet the immigration requirements? Nobody that I know of, especially in here.

The loony right think that wanting due process and it to be speeded up are supporting mass immigration.

False equivalence.
Those that do like to hide behind the, 'if they are genuine asylum seekers' such a low bar to cross, many a half baked stories will get them a cuddle and a welcome

was on R4 Today Programme this morning, those arriving from Afghan and Eritrea are 20x more like to commit a sex offence to women and girls !
40% of sex crimes in London are by foreign nationals ?

is this correct ?

multiculturalism great isn't it
A couple of Afghans been pinched for raping a 12 tear old girl. Bet her family loves the cultural enrichment. Poor little lamb.

If they are genuine aslyum seekers then the process should sort it out, and quickly.

The issue is that processing and action is not happening at the speed it should. It's not a recent thing, the can has been kicked down the road for the last years if not decades, by the last few governements in particular. The Tories.

Nobody, in here certainly, is supporting more. They are asking for an adult way of addressing the problem, and then sorting it. It really isn't just an issue since the last election, no matter what some people tell you.

Twist and squirm see
Adult way of discussing the problem?

Not from you then.

how many people would be attracted to our shores if all you had to do was turn up in France (or maybe just lybia) with a plausible story ?

we could send cruise ships down to bring them home in some comfort - a new life of luxury awaits, all you need is a half baked story

Gangs selling good stories and training in how to get believed - STARMER will be on the case to crack the coaching gangs -"we will make advertising these coaching sessions in Africa illegal"

Do you agree that (lack of) processing and action is the crux of the problem, or not ?
It's better to discourage them from coming, rather than deal with them when they are here.
Or is it simpler just to blame Labour ?
Labour have taken a different direction which has resulted in the numbers rapidly rising.

Should have happened years ago, but we are where we are
Labour have taken a different direction which has resulted in the numbers rapidly rising.
And they also seem to be addressing the underlying issues. Quick enough ? No. But better than has been done by the previous shambles.

Totally misunderstanding the point about who is wanting more, and what is needed.

All we have is higher numbers than previous years and we seem on track for the highest numbers in recent years.

August & September - could be 8-10k each.

Who is claiming that it is good ?

But why wasn't it addressed before is what you should be asking the previous lot.

I disagree, asking why something hasn't been done already will get you nowhere. The fact is, it hasn't, so here we are. Braverman's Hostility strategy had some legs, but she wasn't the right person to get it through.

The previous lot, were making progress. The numbers reflected this.

off-shore detention has many advantages.
- Lower cost - the uk is not a low cost region to live
- Far away - acts as a deterrent. and avoids people disappearing.

The Rwanda scheme was too complex. Outsourcing the problem to Rwanda for money wasn't the way to go. We should simply have leased an area of land and agreed private security/immigration exemptions. Its no different to a military base etc.
