Fair enough, we will/should probably no more later
He was apparently paid £76 on release from prison, a standard payment to cover initial costs incurred

Was he given £3000, and why? As far as I can see it's just inflammatory headlines with no detail.

Did it mean the cost of the flight maybe? I'm happy paying my share of that. Money in his pocket is different, but I don't go for headlines. But if it rids him from our land, then I'm not overly concerned at paying my share. Cheaper than keeping him

Ed balls was asking on this morning the chap wouldnt answer, I assume if he hadn't had the 3k he would have just said no he hasn't had the 3k, but time will tell.

Agree in theory, but

Now look at overall costs of doing anything else with him

It appears a small price to pay. How much does prison cost, etc
I will gladly chip in - he is a free man now -- or is he - where has he been deported to and is he serving out his time in jail there.

Ethiopia.
And he is entitled to a FNO (foreign national offenders) award. In his case it will be £1,500.

it might be a condition applied by the receiving country.
While a receiving country must accept its own nationals, it may impose additional conditions on a person deported from the UK, especially regarding future travel. The specifics vary by the individual's circumstances and the laws of the destination country.

Resettlement grant

FNOs departing under the FRS are eligible for a resettlement grant. To encourage early departure, a higher amount is paid to someone who applies whilst still in custody. The current values of the grants are up to:

  • £1,500 where the application is made whilst the FNO is serving their custodial sentence
  • £1,500 for qualifying family members
  • £750 for FNOs who apply after completing their custodial sentence
  • £750 for FNOs who have received a conviction overseas
  • £750 for FNOs with UK non-custodial convictions
The full settlement grant is paid in cash uploaded onto a card once departure has been confirmed.

Not sure where to post, maybe i missed the main thread, that aside so sad to see another man lose his life in such a pointless way in Hillingdon yesterday, the lefties etc i guess will just shrug their shoulders and carry on apoligising for being british, apologise to the next lot arriving for any delay in processing, whilst shoving the 'racist protesters' out the way branding them as extreme right wing thugs, till it happens again. Sad times.
