Going on hols. in May to France and Germany, so I bought this today, reduced at Argos. It has maps for Europe, however when I tried to get a route from home to Paris, nothing happened - it could not find Paris. Does this indicate a fault with it? According to its 'settings' Europe maps are loaded. I should add, I have only rarely used a sat-nav before. Any advice much appreciated, thank you.

Have actually been out driving with it? When new they do take sometime to settle and determine your GPS signal/location.
I've just turned mine on and looked. At the right of the search pane is a little flag. Click on that, and it opens up a choice of countries.
Not quite sure what order you do it in, but I just put Paris in, clicked on that button, and France came up as an option.
