Im doing a bit of a John D.

Tool theft is a massive worry for tradesmen and their mental health suffers.

Police release image of man they want to speak to after £5,000 worth of tools stolen in Nottingham | ITV News Central https://share.google/Syfr8h0aLcMJJfuro

Putting this on GD puts it out their and hopefully helps catch this piece of shıt.

My van was broken into twice when I lived 'up country' over 20 years ago, might have even been 3 times but definitely twice. As luck would have it, on both occasions I was involved in a large refurb and virtually all my tools were left on site which was pretty secure so losses were negligible.
Never had a problem in Cornwall, it does happen but it's quite rare.
Camper Van theft is becoming a thing so I've bought a steering wheel lock fwiw, it's a good visual deterrent.

When I see bundles of tools for sale on facebook I often wonder where they originated from and does anyone ask? If I was old bill I would be trawling social media and checking for post code marking etc.

I have bought tools from an auto jumble where enthusiasts are passing on stuff they no longer need and sellers are generally known.

I had a Milwaukee core drill stolen a good few years back.

It filled me with joy as the clutch was faulty and could easily break a wrist or an arm when it caught.

I was hoping for a 4 inch hole up a ladder.
That’s really relatable and funny!!! I’ve been the bloke on the ladder and it wasn’t nice

Given the age of some of the posters, some of them might not leave the forum as such, but leave this mortal plane.

Which they're hardly likely to announce on here, post mortem.

IIRC Notch abruptly stopped posting on New Years day. Unlikely that it was a NY resolution.
