Hello All
I bought a toothbrush Braun - Oral B thing
it used to plug into a two pin to three pin convertor plug.

Why does this not fit into a shaver socket the pins are two close together? is there another adapter or is this not meant to work?

The Braun tooth thingy we've got fits fine in our shaver socket. Is your socket standard size?

Is the toothbrush from the UK? I've had 3 Oral B machines and they all fit my bathroom shaver point.

Sometimes internet purchases come from overseas with different plugs on, but most shaver sockets are universal anyway.

ahhhh perhaps mine came from outside of the UK when ordered as it def does not fint. i suppose i will have to order a new one.

Thanks All

Or cut off the original plug and fit an ordinary 3 pin plug - and charge the toothbrush up somewhere else?
John :)

Your Braun has a 2 pin continental plug fitted which although similar in look and size is not the same as a shaver socket plug. Quite a few do manage to fit in with a bit of effort but it is definately not good practice.
More and more kit is now coming with Euro plugs and an adaptor to allow it to fit into a UK socket. It is perfectly ok to change the plug to a standard UK one (as long as it is a 220/240 Volt version)
