Hey does any one no what kind of wage you get for begin a trade counter assistant at a plumbers merchants. I have been kinda offerd a job at one need to go down and speak to the manager this week. I just wonderd what the pays usualy like if any one knows?
Second, its actually a very good way into plumbing. You meet local plumbers and IF they are impressed by you they will be able to offer you an apprenticeship or a job.
It does not always work out though. Dan took on this bright fellow from a merchant. He had taken his NVQ2 and seemed pretty sensible. Unfortunately he did not develop well and was rather less than honest and had to be "let go".
At least you won't have to worry about knackering up your knees! To be fair though a lot of people at merchants have a very good knowledge of plumbing, especially when it comes to fittings e.t.c, so you could learn quite a lot.
