Trump doesn't like Pope Leo.

To all those now rowing back on their support for Trump - have none of you ever heard that well-known quote from Maya Angelou?

And what were the Iranian demands:

Reparations for the costs of the war.
Maintaining their terrorist proxy groups going forward (and by default owning Lebanon)
Removal of US bases throughout the middle east.
Guarantees that they will never again be attacked by Israel or the US.
Full control of the Hormuz Strait going forward.
Full freedom to develop nuclear weapons.

It looks like Iran has over played their hand.

The currently still manage to pay IRGC troops but for how long?, a lot of their money is tied up in the Emirati banking system, if the Emirates choose to freeze their assets that will change rapidly.
Their most destructive weapons are spent, there's not much left in the magazine and the ability to manufacture replacements has gone. China may be able to top up their weapons arsenal, I doubt they'd dare whilst Trump has control of the Strait.

It's just a waiting game for a week or so now but Iran have no cards left to play, or none that I can see.

Maybe the Pope will intervene.
The iranian demands according to filly:

Reparations for the costs of the war.
Maintaining their terrorist proxy groups going forward (and by default owning Lebanon)
Removal of US bases throughout the middle east.
Guarantees that they will never again be attacked by Israel or the US.
Full control of the Hormuz Strait going forward.
Full freedom to develop nuclear weapons.

The Iranian demands according to the Guardian:
  • The lifting of all primary and secondary sanctions on Iran.
  • Continued Iranian control over the strait of Hormuz.
  • US military withdrawal from the Middle East.
  • An end to attacks on Iran and its allies.
  • The release of frozen Iranian assets.
  • A UN security council resolution making any deal binding.
  • plus acceptance of the right to continue enrichment of uranium.

I've used coloured ink to illustrate the congruence between the different versions.

You can decide in your own minds which version to believe.

I saw him say this stuff early hours our time. Apparently the Pope is too liberal for Donald's liking.

Then he shares this image on his 'Truth' Social ...

Trump is taking the ****.
He doesn't believe he is Jesus, he is laughing at him.
The Christian fundamentalists probably take it seriously.
Trumps Maga base love it, this explains Trumps infantile rhetoric and contradictory statements, his offensive tweets about obliterating Iran are treats for his moronic base, they cant get enough of it.
It is only when they feel the same pain that Trump is inflicting on others will they wise up.
I'm going to go as far as to say anyone, regardless of the religion, who genuinely believe acts of significant aggression, conflict, war would be sanctioned by whatever god they follow, are at best deluded. Unless they follow some form of twisted god.

I'm agnostic, however if God in the Christian sense exists, do they seriously think the entity would thank them for creating mayhem, upheaval, injury, misery and death for hundreds and thousands of people, in its (God's) name?

They're nuts.

Christian sense?

Same god as that of Jews and Muslims.

Trump’s lapdog sees a sack beckoning.

Beside the canal.

"Vance has been privately briefing the media that he argued against Trump’s big Iran gamble. Trump rewarded Vance by giving him the Iran portfolio.

That Iran and the US have not held such high-level talks since before Vance was born makes last week’s parlay with the Iranian delegation something of a milestone. That Trump’s blockade of the Strait of Hormuz is almost certain to backfire means that Vance is likely to lead a second round of talks, and probably many more. It is conceivable at some point that a deal will be reached, which Vance could then credit to himself. But his leash is short. He stepped out of the room multiple times to call Trump during his 21-hour negotiations in Islamabad."
