Trump is suing the BBC for Ten Billion USD.

Bluster, noise and attitude as normal.

Of course people go to prison for non-payment of the BBC fee. Lots of them are women, as their bully boys tend to pick on them as a weaker target. I'm not going to go and get evidence of the bleeding obvious for you.
"The maximum penalty for non-payment of the TV licence fee is a fine. A person cannot receive a custodial sentence for TV licence evasion but can be committed to prison for wilfully refusing to pay the fine or culpably neglecting to pay. Imprisonment is only pursued as a matter of last resort.

In 2019, 122,603 people were proceeded against for non-payment of the licence fee. Of these, 113,002 people were fined. The number of people admitted to prison for failing to pay fines in respect of the non-payment of a TV licence in England and Wales in 2019 was two or fewer (the actual number has not been released in order to protect against personal identification)."

BBC is for intelligent people
You are aware you can watch ITV news and Channel 4 news without a licence as long as its not live (noting the definition of live has not been tested).

Time will tell

As it has before

Good job . Shall we call it incorrect legal opinions then ?
I guess if you change the meaning of the word "incorrect" to mean, something I don't understand or agree with.

seems you don't understand plain, simple English.

It's not tax payers money as such. The BBC is funded by a licence fee, it is entirely optional to pay. I know some of their legal team, they will need external help, to put it gently.
They haven’t got a rich Mum to bale them out. When the Dershowits guy made it clear he was fighting to the end, their chief witness had a sudden change of memory. Which made me suspicious of her whole case.

Oh, the irony...

Of course people go to prison for non-payment of the BBC fee.

1) That's simply, legally, impossible.

2) If you still think that people reading your nonsense are so studip that they don't understand about imprisonment for non-payment of court issued fines, produce the numbers for that, or it isn't happening.

I'm not going to go and get evidence of the bleeding obvious for you.

You mean you can't, because there isn't any.

You're posting things which are untrue.

Again.

Also, later data:

4 August 2022 You cannot be sent to prison for failing to pay a TV licence fee, only for failing to pay a fine in connection with a conviction for not paying the fee—and the latest available figures for England and Wales show no one was jailed for this in 2020 or 2021.
