Hi

I have purchased a metal chandelier which has a live and neutral wire connected to it which is fine. In the box there is also a loose earth wire with a metal loop at each end. How do I connect the earth wire please?

Coming down from the ceiling there is live/neutral and earth.

Within the metal light fitting I can see 3 earth symbols that have a screw next to them.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If you have to ask how to fit it then be prepared for death as a possibility.

We need pictures to answer this properly, though one possibility may be that the light fitting AND back plate, if there is one, need earthing.

Do not fit the new light fitting until we are all sure how it should be earthed.

Do you mean a piece of earth wire with an insulated ring terminal at each end like this?...

Gaz :)

The large hole goes under the locking ring, the end of the cable goes to the earth screw and the cpc from the lighting cable goes to the other earth screw.

I'm surprised such important information isn't included in the installation manual!

I'll give you that, when it comes to 3 day domestic installers!
