TV / Video RF aerial connection problem - very strange

Thanks everyone who replied. My dad got a specialist in who diagnosed that the signal was too strong and was just bouncing back. He put some sort of reducer on the wal plate and this cured the problem.

Both the TV and VCR are Panasonic and both have "QLINK". The tv controls the video and turns the VCR on, sets the required station for recording then turns it off.
