Yea. They said I could rent the flat. No chance.....
Asbestos isn't a problem, if it is left undisturbed, or covered over, or painted. Even if not, it is still quite low risk, many of the older members on here, will have suffered serious exposure to asbestos, I know I certainly was.
You would be at much greater health risk, living out on the streets.
Why? Theres asbestos in most properties?

Because they are planning to strip it all out end of the year. I can't be arsed with all the upheaval etc
Fair enough mate,.I'd probably still go for it...maybe go away for a break when they do the work?
It's a foot in the door/a reliable roof over your head, and a big step-up, towards a more stable life. It would be a shame to turn it down.
How extensive is the asbestos? It might just be a single panel in a room, or throughout the flat.

It's not for me...
I just want a place without upheaval and some peace in my life. Back to the drawing board of life, yet again, for me...
Fair enough mate, if it were me I'd snap it up.....they ain't gonna put you in danger.....you might get a move to a house when the work starts, who knows...
I am with Pete on this snap it up once the work was done you would have a settled place... with no more upheaval's in the future if you do not you maybe back in the same situation as you are in now in 1year or so.
Once in there, you have your base. Spend an absolute minimum on it, until the work has been done, and you know where you are. They may end up moving you permanently, to another flat, to enable the work to be done.
Exactly, no way I'd turn it down.
