Upgrade of burglar required

Hi everyone,
I have just registered to find out the best course of action for securing my property.
Have only been in the property for 1 year, and the alarm is actually working.
Live in detached 3 bed bungalow, system has 4 pirs and a panic button.
I currently have an old c&k security 700L system which was installed in 1995 , the pirs all look to be original, and have yellowed in colour over the years.Battery in panel was last changed in 2010 and not been serviced for 3 three years according to service record.
The buttons are sticking a bit on the keypad, and external bell box illumination is very dull due to clear plastic at the bottom looking very weathered.
I do have codes to operate system , but no engineer code to work on system, is new battery and new pirs .
Don't know whether to get whole new system, or try and upgrade what I got
If so what do you suggest. Looking for quality but basic ie 4 digit code led keypad , but must be reliable no false alarms.
