Hi, I found a fantastic piece of driftwood in the winter that was once a very thick plank and is now battered and split with great character and I intend to use it as a shelf in the house. I'll either use it as it is or saw to fit into an alcove.

How do I prep the wood so it is suitable to use indoors? I hosed it down and kept it in the garge over winter to begin drying it out. It picked up a bit of furry white mould so I scrubbed that off and it's out in the sun now to continue drying out. I want to keep it as natural looking as possible.

You need to keep it in the room it will be installed in for several weeks, central heating will shrink it.
