I have removed some my old bath taps and the original fittings appear to fit new taps.
However, when removing the hot water tap i had to only turn the tap about 1.5 turns to release it from the fitting.
The fitting on the pipe is barrel shapped whit a nut shape at top, the tap appears to screw down inside it and an inner sleve seems to go into the tap.

This part does not turn on the pipe, is that correct ?
If so the tap screws into it rather than the other way round ?

this being the case i have a problem, my new mixer tap has extension type things that go onto the pipe before going into the tap for deck fitting. When i try to screw these into the pipe fitting, at the point where i can scre it no more it is facing backwards. Is there anything i can do here or would it be easier to use speedfit flexi hoses ?

Sorry this is a bit long and thanks for the advice.
