Utility Room electrics for Appliances

I suppose that depends where the CU is in relation to the two sides of the room, and what sort of floor it has.

In the house I mentioned, the CU feeds the outlet on one side of the kitchen, from where a bit of cable simply goes under the suspended wooden floor to feed the other outlet.
6mm cable? Two into the feed side? Can it be done?

Buy an Aga.

Let's see her (or, to be fair, even Eddie Hall) move it around on a whim.

No job is too hard for the woman who doesn't have to do it herself.

Well, I didn't install it, and it may not be 6mm² cable (4mm² is usually fine for a 32A cooker circuit), but they've certainly done it somehow.

In any event, looking at the spec for MK ones, there would seem to be no problem with 2 x 6mm², if that';s what one wanted/needed ...

In case the kitchen is used by a woman, who has sudden whims to move things around
As I've written, that woman's whims would presumably be satisfied by the house I'm working on, which has cooker circuit outlets on both side of the room, but both fed from the same, single, 'cooker circuit', wouldn't they?

I think that might be attempting the impossible John.
These whims are not understood by anyone , including women!
I have yet to discover why SWMBO decides an item should be in a certain place then 10/20/30/40 years later decides it should be somewhere else.
Why was X a better place than Y? Dont know just thought it might be, its only two cupboards along and one down. But you decide against looking further after a few hundred attempts and you get the answer, well it was only there! Yes you explain that it may as well be on the Moon! Anyway after 17thousand and thirty seven attempts you stops counting and learn not to question the rationale behind it. Sometimes things are in completely different rooms too.
If you can not find something stop looking, I have had shorter holidays abroad than expeditions looking for things that are always in a certain place.

It is one of lifes great mysteries

I blame those house makeover programmes on TV. They have these wonderful graphic gizmos that show the remodelling of a house by the simple press of a computer button. There you are, madam, larger kitchen, windows and doors all moved to different places. Now you can see the squirrels so much better while the maid washes up.

Simples!

Makeover Programmes , Taylor my friend.
I would often come in from a days work and the skirting, dado, doors etc was painted different colours than when I left to g to work.
One day I walked into the kitchen to find it painted in freehand lines of green and yellow, it did actually look quite tasteful I admitted. But I did remark that I felt as if I was trapped inside a roll of earth cable, it did not last long though, she saw my point

Yes. I used to do a lot be of work with a builder. House makeovers, extensions etc.

The worst visitor almost every job was when the architect dropped on to site…
“I was thinking about if we shouldn’t just change…”
with the obvious outcomes.

They love it. Huge profit in changes.

Do you not think that a decent qualty socket would be capable of carrying a lot more load than the spec. says. That was the point I was trying to make.

Often as not, it is the plug, rather than the socket, which overheats and causes the problem, damaging both the plug and the socket it is plugged into.
