Looking at the following documentation, Vaillant seems to be inconsistantly stating the heating times of the uniStor cyclinders:

See page 6:
http://www.vaillant.co.uk/stepone2/data/downloads/c9/42/00/uniSTOR.pdf

See page 4:
http://www.vaillant.co.uk/stepone2/...niSTOR_installation_and_user_instructions.pdf

So, how long does it really take to heat up the uniStor 310; is it 27.8 minutes or 47 minutes? Any clarification would be appreciated.

Futhermore, could someone assit with working out the below heat loss time?:

If the uniStor 310 is consistantly on for 60 minutes heating up to a target temp of 50*C, for how long will the water stay at 50*C before it begins cooling?

If I wanted continuous hot water at 50*C between 18:00 and 24:00 (with increaed usage after 20:30); is the following heating up schedule advised ?:

17:30 - 18:30
20:30 - 24:00

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Why not 17.30-24.00? If you can afford (and need) a 300+ litre cylinder you can afford to heat it. Lagging all the pipes to the cylinder will help reduce gas consumption and pay for itself.

If I specify a water heating time from 17:30-24:00, it then periodically causes the heating in the radiators to drop. Therefore, I would like the water heating timings to be adjusted to my requirements -and of course to economise.

Back to the original question:

If the uniStor 310 is consistantly on for 60 minutes heating up to a target temp of 50*C, for how long will the water stay at 50*C before it begins cooling?
