Hi,
It seems i may need a new circuit board for my ecotec plus, (had hot water but no heat last week, now i have heating and no hot water) have reset it and hit it with a hammer :D but still wont do as it should. anyone have an idea of the cost of a new board and from where? loathe to make an insurance claim unless i have to (out of warranty by a couple of months)
Thanks
Graham

Before you rush to the phone book, please open the cover (one screw at the bottom and two clips) and with a torch check to see if the diverter valve is leaking (to the left of the pump).
Next tun the power on and off and see if the motor is moving - all the way in - pause -all the way out.
PS is the diverter valve brass or plastic?

Cheers

Only the op seems to think its the board.
Everyone else is pointing at the diverter valve which is where I would also be looking!

thanks for the advice lads, will check the diverter valve and the pump when i get home from work later and come back to you.
Dont think i have a leak as the pressure is ok and theres no sign of water anywhere i can see.
Thanks again

May simply need new batteries in your programmable thermostat.........if that's what you have of course.

The Vaillant 360F is very sensitive to reduced battery volatage.

Have had a mate in who works for Brit Gas, (wanted a second opinion) his diognosis is the diverter valve NOT the circuit board !! willl go with his advice, he cant get the parts from BG and has asked me to source them from the net, i cant seem to find a part number or a site that does the one i have uploaded a pic, any thoughts or suggestions lads????
Thanks
Graham

go with his advice
But not the advise of ALL the above.

What was it they all suggested?

I've lost track of how many boilers I have repaired and very few have needed a new PCB. Just seems the first choice of the parts swappers & DIYers!!

I've only changed 1 PCB on a Vaillant and that was a 20 year old VCW242EH!! PCB's on Vaillant are Bomb Proof!!

Thanks both, have sourced a diverter for £60 including delivery, is it a big job to replace? juast thinking on the labour charge coming up !

Very True! Customer had a rubber hose split and soaked not only his floor, but his PCB as well. He was out at the time, returned home to find electrics tripped out. I went round and 40 mins of customers hairdryer and all was good again.

I agree, Bomb Proof!
