Hi,

Re-furb of old house. New kitchen going in. Kitchen is 15' x 10'. There is only a window with no external walls so fitting a cooker extractor hood is really not an option.
The window is being replaced and does offer a solution. The window is quite tall so will have a fixed upper light and a lower opening light. The proposal is to have a T-Series Ventaxia installed in the upper window. The double glazed unit will be manufactured with the correct aperture.
So...onto the question....
Does anyone have experience with air flow for Ventaxia fans. I am thinking of fitting a 7" unit, they come in 6,7,9 and 12.

Any comments, experiences appreciated.

Thanks,

You can't put an extractor fan in that, as it will suck fumes and steam etc out of the kitchen and into the room on the other side of the window.

Apologies, slightly bad description.
The window does have the outside world on the other side of it. It is the only part of the kitchen that abutts the outside word. It is currently a door with glazed panel above. The door and glazed panel are coming out and the window is going in. The space below the window will be blocked up to 9" above work surface height. So this bit of new wall will actually be an outside wall but mostly be behind the kitchen units.
Make sense ?

OK.

No room to run ducting along the top of the wall units to that wall?
.

No, the only outside interface in this room is the window which goes to ceiling height.

More convoluted method might be to go through wall to another room and gain access to an outside will that way. Would then require the ducting to be boxed in. Just seemed easier to fit the window vent.
