Hello,
I'm re doing my ground floor hallway and would like some advise on floor preparation before I lay some replica Victorian Floor tiles.
I've just removed a load of old floor tiles and the old concrete base (it was it bad condition) and reached my homes original Yorkshire stone flooring. This leaves around an inch gap under the skirting boards all around.
I now wish to lay some sort of concrete base before I install the victorian mosaic type tiles on top.
What do i need to do - screed it?
Is a concrete base what I actually need to lay?
Will this allow tiles to be laid on top without cracking them etc?
Any help very much appreciated.
Thanks
