2002, 100K, 2.0 engine (I guess this is a petrol, as I believe the Diesels fitted at that time were 1.9's), £300.

Bargain?
 
It could be, but check it's MOT status and only drive it first! Wing corrosion can be horrendous and check in the boot for evidence of a rear end shunt.

Obviously we are in banger territory here, but I do recall this petrol engine was prone to popping it’s head gasket and oil leaks drowned out the alternator :(
Other issues were rear subframe bushes but the MOT should spot these.
All in all a well sorted car - I remember putting a new N/S wing on and was impressed with the lack of corrosion on the inner one.
Red cars suffered massive oxidisation of the paint - as did other motors of the day.

Yeah, my B-in-L had an E21 in red, which was a very faded pinky colour.

Valeted it and polished up the paintwork and when he saw it, he was convinced I'd had it resprayed!
