Wallpaper or paint? That is the question.

What's going on here? Lucy? Laura? (Joe!!).. DIYnot has sent the girls in to talk interior design !!!  is that to calm GD down a bit?

It won't be long before Joe-90 turns out to be Laurence Llewelyn Bowen !!!
(Jim's wife!!)

But seriously, i'm just doing my front room with the one wall papered + 3 painted thing.... looking good already... (and it looks like i'm trendier than i thought i was !! )

I prefer painted walls. not lining papered first if I can achieve a good finish. Although the stairs and landing walls in my house are shocking so I have use some rock wall paste the wall lining paper and its looking the nuts althoug not painted it yet. There was one seam that I ballsed up but I use a bit of filler and it wont notice once painted. I would love to have plastered it, but my plastering skills are pretty shocking. But I think I have a top notch finish so far.

I prefer painted as well. We stripped all the wallpaper when we moved into our current house lovely 60s/70s patterned paper. Just one room left to go.

Had to have a few walls skimmed by a professional, but most just needed a bit of filling and sanding.
