warm air unit

Assuming U have a J&S, the Heat Exchanger flues have a bottle neck, with a Baffle (Removable from front top) these get linted and should be cleaned and vacuumed, (Flames coming out at the burner is the clue here!!

Well---you would think so, mind you the ACS assessment for warm air teaches you Jack S**t, apart from the need to seal the plenum and air transfer duct!!

cant see it being anything other than the heat exchanger if flames are coming out the front, if the secondary flue was blocked it would spill POC at the draught diverter.

Feking frightening that people are out there working without a clue but have a qualification that makes the public think they know what they are doing.
As for AGILES STUPID comments that makes it look like a split heat exchanger would not make flames come back out and fail a bomb test this is basic and after checking that its not sooted up is the next checks that would be done.

Could be another 3 year jail sentence as was spoken avbout in this months mag after 2 deaths

If the flue is satisfactory and the exchanger not sootted up then would you llike to explain why you think the flue will not operate and test satisfactorily?

Tony

Agile as you obviously dont know the first thing about basic checks that should be carried out on warm air units to check the heat ex . I dont think i should inform you any further as a little knowledge in the wrong hand can be dangerous.
I suggest you enroll in a course that will teach you...
It does embarrass me that pros dont know the basics perhaps this could be discussed in the CC. or failing that i could arrange to give you basic training at installer live next week...
At a minimum fee of £84 where i can assess how much training you need and then work out a proper rate

I think its unwise that anyone advises you on gas related matters on warm air as your not quaified

What goes around comes around.

As has been wisely said, continue this in the CC.
More detailed explination can be given in there and for those that dot know these units can learn something

funnily enough I did start it there and was told to start it in here.

I'll double check it hasn't been sooted up.

Thanks all for the the help.

Oh and yes it was IDed etc -I might look stupid.....

Now talking about not being qualified.
Can Agile explain why when you type in Agile services into the gas register,
And when it comes up , and click on view engineers
His picture comes up with with no qualifications listed
Surely he is not out there worling with lapsed ACS qualifications.
Must be an oversight EH tony
