Hi, I’m having difficulty finding an answer to what seems a simple question.

What is a typical depth for a warm vs cold roof in a rear extension?

i.e the measurement from the underside of the ceiling to the top of the roof.

Thank you!

Because its not a simple question.

Depends on many factors, not just the joist depth, the actual area of roof or the insulation type.

At the high end, the last one we built measured about 450mm.

What about the one before that, and the one last October, and the one on the small kitchen extension on the semi, and the games room on the large detached?

The OP wanted a typical depth.

I get what you're saying Woods.
I suppose you can say a minimum of about 350mm and work upwards from that.

Thanks! Curious if there is any maximum size for a sensible cold/warm roof?

Just trying to work out if such a roof can easily slot between the mess of drainage pipes on the back of our house!
