Wearing on asphalte (Tarmac?) drive

I have a fairly large drive to my home. It must be about twelve years old and the top gurface is beginning to wear a little due to manoeuvering my car, so sometimes we get bits of asphalte picked up on our shoes and dropped in the house.
Can't afford a new drive...quotes between £2000-£4000.
Is there anything I can 'paint' on to the surface to hold it together for a few more years??

Yes you can, pop down to a paint & decorator shop for advice and not diy stores, won't be cheap though.
