Any tips on getting a stubborn threaded connection to stay watertight?

I'm having problems with two shower body jets. I can't get a seal between the fitting and 1/2" elbows on the wall.

So far I've tried pfte tape (up to 12 wraps) and jointing compound. The pfte works best but the fitting still weeps.

All other fittings with 1/2" threads sealed up first time with pfte. I guess these two must be a bit out of tolerance.

Any ideas on getting a reliable seal?

tried Loctite55?, can't remember when I last used PTFE tape. Its the mutts.

Make sure you watch the uTube video though on just how to use it correctly.

If there really is a sizing problem there is a thicker type of PTFE tape designed for use on gas and is sold in a yellow spool.

It is much thicker than normal tape and MIGHT solve your problem!

Loctite 55 worked. Thanks for the help. Seems much better than pfte.

My pleasure, now regardingmy consultancy fees, to whom should I address the invoice? :)
