What about his human rights ?

In my opinion the conductor should be sacked for his belligerent and unhelpful attitude. Not once did he quote the regulations. The big guy should be charged with assault. Fook all to do with him. If they had wrestled and fallen on a child they could have killed it. Would you be lauding him as a hero then?

The kid contacted the Jeremy Vine show and said he's bought a return ticket and handed in the wrong portion earlier in the day.

He should have called the cops to meet the train. Simples.

Personally I would have paid for his ticket to save all that unpleasantness.

Having a ticket not valid for the full journey is an offence under the railways act.
Or so London Transport keep advertising :D

yes that's correct depends if "penalty fares" are in operation then its 10-£20 or the remainder off the journey if greater
they can let you go without payment in penalty fares as long as they can verify the address and who you are

different operators have different rules but in general its intent to avoid payment thats the crime and that generaly happens at journys end

That opinion would get you maximum red arrows on the DM website...

Since when has doing your job been classed as belligerence? A job that is no doubt poorly paid for all the abuse you would have to take. So swearing at someone who is doing their job, and in front of children, isn't belligerence?

Why is it 'fook all' to do with passengers who have paid for the correct ticket, and are now being delayed by this 'yoof'? I'd be ****ed off if I was sitting on that train.

So, the kid bought a ticket for this journey, which surprisingly he can't produce, and a previous inspector accepted the wrong ticket on the previous journey? Hmm.

It's not the job of the conductor to attempt to rile the passengers by stating he's getting paid for it so he can sit there all night. he should be (and no doubt will be) sacked.
He should have explained to the lad that he would phone ahead and have him arrested if he didn't pay for a fresh ticket.

The big bloke was just a yob. Pure and simple. I'm asking you what you would say if they killed a child on the train. Well?

An interesting hypothetical. What would you say if the non-paying passenger got a knife out and stabbed a child?

That's a health and safety type argument for inaction. You can't do A, because B,C and D might happen. You're thinking the way that the yellow hi-vis brigade want you to think. Don't do anything. Rely on the authorities/polis. Well a lot of the time, unless it's a race crime, they don't want to know. People sometimes need to sort things out for themselves.

That big bloke is a thug. It was nothing to do with him whatsoever. No doubt he'll be charged and hopefully jailed.

And I ask again - what if they'd killed a child?

What if a child killed them

Really the big bloke was just a yob ? we all saw what happened probably the video was started a little after the issue started (time lag), weve got a bespeckaled guard struggling with an idiot and a "Yob" helps him and in effect the other passengers applaud him .........but he's a yob yeah right.
