Bernard Youen's performance was so intense Graeme Souness really thought he was going to headbutt him in the cinema scene. A brilliant actor at his very best. They really don't make 'em like that anymore.

BBC4 last night also showed the final episode of Boys From the Blackstuff. 'George's last ride'. Don't think there's been many dramas to match Bleasdale's work here. Interesting to see how run down the Albert dock was in this episode filmed in 1982, was up there a few years back and now it's all cafes, bars and shops, a far cry from its industrial past.
