One thing came to my mind is that there was hardly ever any back-ground music played in shops back then and if there was it was something like the top poppers sing the hits of the day.
I think it was some copyright law that stopped shops from playing copyrighted music back then.

Another thing is ..............wasn't Sunday a quiet day back then?

All the shops were shut and the town was deserted as were the roads.

70's my teenage years. Best years of our lives (Steve Harley!) although we didn't know it at the time. Platform shoes, flares, long hair, brutus shirts, two tone trousers, red socks. Then brush denim and cheesecloth. Great music, lots of strikes. Still playing our music now.

Where did it all go - so quick.

The 70s were a great time to grow up. We had much more freedom than kids do today, and seemed to live outside on our bikes on roads that didn't have much traffic.

Also, taking all day to travel from Bristol to Devon for our holidays in dad's Morris Marina 1.3HL. Before motorways, the country seemed much bigger, and we always gagged on the smell from the cellophane works in Bridgewater, as we drove through the town every year on our way South. Town bloody stank!

The best bit.....................being allowed to stay up for the best TV programme ever made.............................

SHUT IT!!!!!!!!

They used to film the Sweeny in and around the streets we lived in! Great fun.
