• Looking for a smarter way to manage your heating this winter? We’ve been testing the new Aqara Radiator Thermostat W600 to see how quiet, accurate and easy it is to use around the home. Click here read our review.

What have you been doing today?

It's quite simple really. Any of you, find any tyre professional or manufacturer that will tell you that that is an acceptable action to take on the tyre.
Tyre manufacturers are in the business of selling tyres, not repairing them. Yeah, go ahead and ask vehicle manufacturers what they give you instead of a spare wheel these days.

You know more about cars than he does mottie, Is he actually a mechanic ? I honestly wouldn't know but it all sounds suspicious

He’s a floating tester, or that’s what it sounds like. There can be a hefty premium for them! But as you stated, an employed tester isn’t on mega money. 30k ish I’d say, if that

That's what I was saying, our testers are on aprox £30.000 some work nights too which isn't too much more

We struggle to get fitters, we had 3 walk out not so long back because they didnt get a pay rise when we did. Cant blame them.
The motor trade is a terrible trade now. All the moneys gone and a mechanic needs a years wages in tools.

Decorators earn a lot more, and don’t have 1/3rd of the skill set.

Yes it is a shame as realistically we need mechanics and I would be knackered without them as I know nothing about engines

Found a short clout nail in the tyre of the Tucson. Pulled it out, no 'hiss' but when I tested it with soapy water there was the very, very slightest hint of a leak. Absolutely minimal but it was on the shoulder so not in a repairable position. I emptied a bottle of slime into the tyre and it sealed the leak so I’ll just keep an eye on it through the TPMS. Not much change from £200 for a new one fitted and balanced if I go that route. My neighbour was repairing his shed roof the other day so I suspect that’s where it came from. Can’t prove it though.

Photos can be deceptive, but that appears to be in the repairable area of the tread.
