What have you been doing today?

Post offices are supposed to stay open aren't they? Bugger...

Today I did some voluntary gardening - on my own. Cleared a patch of ivy and thorns and put in 5 packets of bee and butterfly flower mix. Such a lovely, warm day and almost forgot about all of this - until I got unexpected and unasked for text updates about the virus from the government. Anyone else get those?

I did.

Got mine about 10 minutes ago and thought it applied to me personally!

My wife would have been pleased if it did. She bought 10 rolls of wallpaper for the stairs and landing last week.

I did. I didn't read it. Staying at home, not much else I can do....

Walked with the wife and dog to our allotment. Zig zagged from one side of the road to the other practically all the way there and back keeping a good 2 metres away from other walkers. Did a bit of weeding, watered my seedlings in the poly tunnel and planted some beetroot seeds. Went up Sainsburys to do our weekly shop plus get some bits for the MIL. Wore disposable gloves and my full face crash helmet. Got a *******ing when I got home for (a) using the self-service till and (b) not taking my gloves off when I got in the car. She can go next time!

Went to work. Had wool in the trailer and a roll blew out and vehicles had to swerve to avoid it.
Including a police van.
Was 3 of us in the van which I don't think is allowed now.

Got both of our fold-up bikes out of the garage. Pumped the tyres up, fitted a new set of brake blocks to one of them - one block was missing, I think I must have robbed it for another bike a while ago. What made me do it was I found a brand new set of brake blocks in our hall table drawer. Can’t remember robbing it or buying new ones. Worrying! Sanded down and painted a couple of plant pot boxes. Going to take the dog out for a walk later - my wife took her out earlier but came back - just too many people in groups of more than two walking about. When will they learn?

Had an early knock on the door from an panicking elderly neighbour - her cat had become poorly. So I took it to the vets for her, went to Sains after for some things for us and the lady, then collected the cat again on the way home. Little thing will be ok, had a cyst burst by it's bum - ouch.
When got back, did some more volunteer gardening in the sunshine. Making the most of it as supposed to be grey and cold by the weekend.

Removed inlet manifold from van, cleaned and replaced, I was going to try and change the glow plugs but as the van still drives, I didn't want one or more snapping then causing more damage.

Made some traditional cornish pasties. A batch of granola bars for training and planted all my veg n plant seeds in main greenhouse. Had a blast on my vape with a bit of weed, drifted off listening to my music in the sun. Fantastic.

Pulled up the carpet in the conservatory in prep for a new one, discovered some water damage to the chipboard in a couple of places, cut out a couple of panels and discovered some sodden insulation in the cavity by the doors, harbouring families of slugs and woodlouse, all cleaned out and left open to dry out, just got to find where the water is getting in
